The work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to modernize the hydraulic elevator located in the San Gabriel City Hall, including new power unit, control system, door operating equipment, hoistway wiring, cab interiors, etc. This Work shall be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. Please refer to Part 3 - Technical Specifications and Special Provisions for more details of the Scope of Work.
The contract is to be executed within 7 calendar days after award of contract by City Council. Time for completion of the work is one hundred (100) working days for all work from the date of the Notice to Proceed with actual installation/construction of the modernization of the City Hall elevator.
Any contract entered into pursuant to this Notice will incorporate the provisions of the State Labor. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773.2 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the minimum prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of workman needed to execute the contract shall be those determined by the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, which are on file in the Office of the City Clerk, City of San Gabriel and are available to any interested party on request.
Attention is directed to the provisions of Sections 1777.5 and 1777.6 of the Labor Code concerning the employment of apprentices by the Contractor or any subcontractor under them. The Contractor or any subcontractor shall comply with the requirements of said sections in the employment of apprentices. Information relative to apprenticeship standards and administration of the apprenticeship program may be obtained from the Director of Industrial Relations, San Francisco, CA, or the Division of Apprenticeship Standards and its branch offices.
All bidders shall be licensed in accordance with provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a Class “C11” State Contractor’s License at the time this contract is awarded. The Successful Contractor and his/her subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City of San Gabriel and maintain current until completion of the project. Business licenses can be purchased or renewed at the Finance Department in City Hall, 425 S Mission Drive, San Gabriel, CA.
