The City of San Gabriel, in partnership with Athens Services, will be hosting its first citywide Neighborhood Clean-up event on Saturday, Apr. 8 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The free effort will be held at the new Public Works Facility at 917 E Grand Avenue, just east of the San Gabriel Humane Society.
During the event, bulky items and electronic waste (e-waste) will be collected. All San Gabriel residents are encouraged to bring their items for proper (FREE) disposal. Public Works Department staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist residents by removing their items from their vehicles and disposing of them into large containers provided by Athens Services. No household hazardous waste will be accepted at this event.
By the end of the day, Public Works staff hopes to collect trash that should not be left on our streets, all of which will be recycled or disposed of to the fullest extent practicable in support of the City's state mandated waste diversion goals.
Don't forget, it is easy to keep our City clean, just call Athens Services at 888.336.6100 and they will pick up your couch, TV, mattress or other large items for free. Don't trash SG! Tweet us at #DontTrashSG.
