The City of San Gabriel, in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, is calling for nominations of older Americans to participate in the 52nd Annual Older Americans Recognition Day. The Community Services Department is asking for your input in the search for San Gabriel’s Outstanding Older American. The nominee criteria are:
- Man or woman, age 65 or older
- Has not been honored at the event in previous years
- Has performed outstanding volunteer service for the San Gabriel community
This program is designed to seek out and honor an older adult who is actively involved in serving others in the community and exemplifies the true spirit of volunteerism. Nomination forms for this years’ Older American will be accepted through February 16, 2017 at the Community Services Department, 250 South Mission Drive in San Gabriel. The 2017 Older American Award winner will be recognized at the April 18 City Council Meeting in conjunction with the celebration of San Gabriel’s 104th anniversary of incorporation.
