The list of candidates is officially set for the San Gabriel General Municipal Election on March 7, 2017. 

There are seven candidates running for three open seats on the City Council: A.J. Faure, Mario Delatorre, Denise Menchaca, Eric L. Chan, Scott Bowles, Chin Ho Liao and Jason Pu. There is one candidate for City Treasurer: Kevin Sawkins. There are three candidates for City Clerk: Mary Acuña Garcia and Thu "Julie" Nguyen. 

The polls will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, March 7, 2017, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The last day to register to vote in the election is Monday, Feb. 20. 

The city urges all residents to get out and make their voices heard on March 7, as these city elected officials make many important decisions that affect day-to-day life in San Gabriel. And for those who don't think their vote will count, think again! The last city election in 2013 was decided by just two votes.
