On Tuesday night, the City Council heard a presentation from Metro explaining ballot Measure M, which locals will vote on this November.

Measure M proposes a half-cent sales tax to fund transportation initiatives in Los Angeles County. The measure is expected to generate more than $860 million a year.

Some projects outlined in the plan for Measure M money include Gold Line Foothill Extension to Claremont, SR-71 Gap from I-10 to Rio Rancho Rd, SR-57/SR-60 Interchange Improvements, Gold Line Eastside Extension (One Alignment), I-605/I-10 Interchange and SR 60/I-605 Interchange.

In addition, Metro estimates that the City of San Gabriel will receive at least $575,600 a year to use for street improvements, pothole repairs, signal work and more.
