The city is accepting applications for vacancies on city commissions, a great way for residents to get more involved in the community.
The Civil Service Commission has one vacancy and the Design Review Commission has one vacancy, but the city will also accept applications throughout the year for all commission positions.
The Civil Service Commission is responsible for hearing employee appeals regarding disciplinary action. The Design Review Commission is responsible for reviewing building plans for commercial and residential projects. Applicants for DRC must be in a design profession such as architecture or engineering.
Commissioners have a very important role in the city function, as they are the first ones to review important projects and issues before they go before the City Council.
