On Tuesday, Sept. 27, cities across the nation will make a great effort to register voters and increase awareness about the importance of voting in national, state and local elections for National Voter Registration Day.
This year for the first time the San Gabriel City Clerk's Department will participate in the event, hosting voter registration booths in the community. For this event the department will partner with the Asian Youth Center. There will be a booth at the San Gabriel Library, 500 S Del Mar Ave., as well as Hawaii Supermarket, 120 E Valley Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents can also come to register to vote at City Hall, 425 S Mission Drive, during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.).
At the booths, residents can register to vote and learn more about both the upcoming presidential election in November as well as the local city election in March. Voter information will be available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese. There will also be special giveaways for those who participate.
For more information, contact the City Clerk's Department at 626.308.2800, ext. 4600.
