The city makes it easy to spend time with the family this summer, offering several free programs in the beautiful city parks. This year, the Community Services Department has added a brand new program, “Parks After Dark,” to make the summer even more enjoyable for the San Gabriel community.
The program offers free family activities and games on Tuesdays at Smith Park and Wednesdays at Vincent Lugo Park, starting at 6 p.m. Some of the activities planned so far include a human “Hungry, Hungry Hippos” game, a giant soccer game, Twister, balloon animal making lessons and fun kid-friendly crafts.
Parks After Dark will start on June 21 and go through Aug. 3, with a break on the week of July 4. For more information, contact Recreation Supervisor James Lara at 626.308.2875 or jlara@sgch.org.
