On Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., San Gabriel residents can receive free compost and mulch at a drive-up, self-service giveaway event located at the Smith Park parking lot (via Clary Ave). Hosted by Athens Services, the compost is a blend of organics material including a mix of green waste, wood waste and food scraps.

Residents will have to bring a ID or bill to provide proof of residency and bring a sturdy container to shovel their desired amounts of compost. Gloves and eye protection are also recommended.
