This Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., San Gabriel residents can receive free compost at a drive-through giveaway event at Smith Park. Hosted by Athens Services, the compost is a blend of organics material including a mix of green waste, wood waste and food scraps.

Residents will have to bring a ID or bill to provide proof of residency; bring a sturdy container to shovel their desired amounts of compost; and must wear a face mask. Gloves and eye protection are also recommended.
