Community Services' after-school program is returning to your child’s elementary school this year! Beginning Monday, August 19 children in grades 2 through 5 can take part in our traditional fall sports, homework assistance, arts and crafts and fun activities. The sports program is available for grades 3 through 5. The after-school program will be held at Coolidge, McKinley, Washington and Wilson Elementary schools. The program will run five days a week from 2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. We will begin taking sign-ups after school on Monday, August 19 so please stop by and meet the Recreation Leaders at your school site. Participants must have a parent or guardian complete and sign Participant Information forms and return them to the Recreation Leaders in order to participate. This is a sign-in and sign-out program.
Jefferson Middle School will begin their after-school sports program the week of August 26. This Fall the Jefferson traveling sports teams will represent their school in flag football and girls’ volleyball. The program operates after school, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Try-outs will be held on August 27 and August 28. If your student is selected for the team, they will represent the school in the 210 League, which consists of 11 other middle schools in the area. Each team will have their own schedule of games and the schedules will be distributed prior to the start of the season. This program is limited to Jefferson students.
