Community Services offering spring break camps

Looking for something fun for your child to do during Spring Break? The San Gabriel Community Services Department is offering a variety of camp options including Spring Break Day Camp, FUNdamentals with LEGO® specialty camp and Food Network Favorites specialty camp from April 1 to April 5.

San Gabriel’s Spring Break Day Camp will feature a variety of fun activities for youth entering 2nd grade thru 6th grade. The week will include arts & crafts, games, educational activities, tournaments, snacks and excursions to the San Gabriel Mission, bowling, a movie at the Mission Playhouse and Knott’s Berry Farm. Registration for Spring Break Day Camp will begin March 12, 2019 at the Community Recreation Center. The camp will be held at the Adult Recreation Center, 324 South Mission Drive in San Gabriel.  The standard day will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for $125; extended hours from are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for $145. Camp is limited to the first 50 registered participants so be sure to register today!  

Specialty camps offered are Food Network Favorites and STEM FUNdamentals with LEGO® at Vincent Lugo Scout House. STEM FUNdamentals with LEGO®, for youth ages 7-11, applies real-world concepts in physics, engineering and architecture through engineer-designed projects working with LEGO® bricks. This specialty camp is offered from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $169 for residents and $174 for non-residents. Food Network Favorites Camp, for youth ages 9 to 12, is a culinary program where young chefs learn how to cook while integrating math, science, history, food safety and nutrition. This camp is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The cost is $180 for residents and $185 for non-residents. Registration for specialty camps begins March 11 at the Community Recreation Center located at 250 South Mission Drive, or online here.
