This holiday season, shift your shopping to San Gabriel! Here you can find many independent shops for those special and unique gifts--from bling to tea and everything in between! The City is home to a variety of boutiques selling women’s apparel, premier beauty and cosmetic products; not to mention, nationally recognized jewelry stores. There’s a plethora of gift options for friends, co-workers, and loved ones in our very own San Gabriel!
To celebrate Small Business Saturday, the San Gabriel community is encouraged to “Shop San Gabriel” on Saturday, November 24, 2018 to help keep dollars local. Always taking place the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday aims to educate local communities on the importance of supporting small businesses. So, before venturing out to the malls, consider holiday shopping first in San Gabriel.
Business owners and residents both benefit from shopping locally. Research shows that for every $100 spent at a locally owned business, more than $45 stays in the community, creating jobs and expanding the City’s tax base versus about $14 when buying from a national chain store. Buying locally ensures that your sales taxes are reinvested into San Gabriel, which in turn help pay for services including community engagement programs, infrastructure improvements, parks, and emergency services such as Police and Fire.
