Do you or someone you know suffer from arthritis and would like to find better ways of managing it? As part of Active Aging Week, Community Services will be hosting an arthritis presentation courtesy of HealthCare Partners. Millions of people suffer from arthritis and struggle with managing its symptoms, including swelling, pain and stiffness. Dr. Chan with HealthCare Partners will present ways to help manage the symptoms and treatment for different types of arthritis. The presentation will be held on September 27 in the Padillo Room at the Adult Recreation Center located at 324 South Mission Drive from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Active Aging Week will occur from September 24 through September 28, and during the week, you'll have the opportunity to sample several classes offered by Community Services for free. San Gabriel's older adults can stay active by trying one or all of the classes during the week. While the free offer is limited to one class session during Active Aging Week, Community Services will be raffling free entry into a class for the remainder of the session to one lucky participant. During Active Aging Week, all participants attending a free class must register and complete a waiver form for the class before attending.
For more information on older adults, please contact Recreation Supervisor James Lara at 626.308.2875 or via email at jlara@SGCH.org. Any person with a disability who requires a modification or accommodation in order to participate should direct such request to the Community Services Department at 626.308.2875 at least 48 hours before the event, if possible.
