Want to avoid the summer heat and enjoy a free movie and popcorn? Spend the second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Adult Recreation Center located at 324 South Mission Drive. Community Services will be celebrating Cinema Thursdays from June to August. Movie screenings will include new movies as well as some classics. All movies will promptly begin at 12:30 p.m., following the daily lunch program. The movie dates are:
- June 14 – The Greatest Showman (2017)
- June 28 – Wonder (2017)
- July 12 – The Dark Tower (2017)
- July 26 – Citizen Kane (1941)
- August 9 – Trouble with the Curve (2012)
- August 23 – The Post (2017)
Be sure to stop by and enjoy a movie with some friends this summer. If you are interested in having lunch before the movie, make sure to make your reservation the week before. Lunch is served daily courtesy of Intervale Senior Services/ YWCA and is for adults 60 years of age and over. Reservation check-in begins at 10:00 a.m. with lunch promptly served at 11:30 a.m. There is a $3 suggested donation per meal. Call 626.308.2823 to make a reservation for lunch.
