The Asian Youth Center benefits from many hours donated by volunteers and the Board of Directors. These hours represent a saving in operating costs, which means more money goes directly to the Center's youth programs. Volunteers include interns from the Cal State University system, student volunteers from local schools, seniors who assist in the office and in the classroom, and many individuals who volunteer time and expertise and resources.

The purpose of La Casa is to encourage and support individuals and families in need. By providing direct human services, advocacy and referrals, La Casa seeks to enhance the educational and economic well-being of the people it serves. The San Gabriel Educational Foundation (SEF), the primary fundraising partner of the San Gabriel Unified School District, raises funds from throughout the San Gabriel community – parents, businesses, community members – to support educational programs at all of San Gabriel USD’s eight schools and that benefit all K-12 students. SEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has donated more than $670,000 to our schools since 1986 to provide funding for student programs and curriculum that are in danger of being reduced or eliminated. SEF’s volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of school parents, community and business leaders who are dedicated to enhancing and improving public education for San Gabriel’s youth.
