Overnight parking enforcement will resume on November 1 at 2:00 a.m.
For those who need to purchase a new parking permit, need to renew an existing parking permit, or must purchase a nightly parking permit, here’s what you need to know:
Who qualifies for an annual overnight parking permit?
Whether renewing or getting a new overnight parking permit, you’ll need the following:
- You must have more vehicles than parking spaces on your property
- Vehicle registrations for all vehicles must match the San Gabriel address that you currently reside in
- The make, model, license plate and color of all vehicles parked on property
Please note that parking permits will not be issued for commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles and motorcycles. For more information about the specific requirements, we encourage you to read this packet.
If you have any questions about whether or not you qualify for an extended permit, we encourage you to contact our Finance Department.
How can I renew my annual overnight parking permit?
Annual Overnight Parking Permits
For residents who can provide all current registrations with current San Gabriel addresses, we offer a standard one-year permit for $120 and a six-month parking permit for $100.
To minimize processing time, new applications and vehicle registrations can be submitted through email, mail or dropped off in our secure drop box in front of City Hall. All applications and renewal requests should have a contact name, residential address, unit number and a phone number. We will contact you to schedule an appointment to purchase your overnight parking permit.

How do I apply for a new annual overnight parking permit? What if I have an active parking application on file but moved to a new San Gabriel address?
For first time applicants, a new overnight parking permit application is required. If you are an existing San Gabriel resident who has moved to a new San Gabriel address, you’ll also need to submit a new application for the new residential address.
If you are a new applicant, we encourage you to contact our Finance Department beforehand to determine whether or not you qualify for an extended overnight parking permit.
How do I purchase a temporary overnight parking permit?
For those who require a temporary nightly parking permit, you may purchase one for $4 per night at the kiosks located in front of the San Gabriel Police Department and the Community Services Department. Temporary parking permits may also be purchased online at PayMyCite.com.
