The Community Services Department offers after school recreation and sports programs during the school year, as well as summer recreation programs, and a summer day camp for San Gabriel youth. Along with these programs, the department provides a variety of trips and special events throughout the year for youth of all ages.

After School Recreation Program

Now Available for Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year!
Looking for something fun to do after school?  San Gabriel Elementary students grades 2 - 5 can join us for our free after school program.  Your child will get assistance with homework, do crafts, play games, stay active, and have fun! This program is available at Coolidge, McKinley, Washington, and Wilson Elementary Schools. The after school program runs five days a week 2:30 to 5:00 pm and 1:30 to 5:00 pm on Wednesdays. This is a sign-in and sign-out program. Recreation Leaders will be at each school site on August 19 to collect permission slips for this exciting new program!

Jefferson After School Sports Program
Fall Sports : Flag Football | Girls' Volleyball

Monday - Thursday
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Tryouts are 08/27 & 08/28

Jefferson Middle School will begin their after-school sports program the week of August 26. This Fall the Jefferson traveling sports teams will represent their school in flag football and volleyball. The program operates after school, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Try-outs will be held on August 27-28. If your student is selected for the team they will represent the school in the 210 League, which consists of 11 other middle schools in the area.  Each team will have their own schedule of games and the schedules will be distributed prior to the start of the season. Visit your Recreation Leaders after school Monday, August 26 to get more information regarding the sports program. This program is limited to Jefferson students.
