Overview The City of San Gabriel requires all businesses operating in the City to pay an annual business license tax. Any person who conducts any business, trade, profession, calling or occupation in the City is required to obtain a license whether or not the physical business address is in or outside the City. Please call 626-308-2812 ext. 4612 for information on the requirements for obtaining a City Business License. All prospective business owners need to verify zoning and building permit requirements before applying for a business license. Effective July 1, 2021 there will be a 2.9% credit card processing fee for all credit card charges. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Cash and Checks.
Renewals All 2022 business license renewals will only be processed online or by mail. If your business has a name, ownership or address change, please do not renew online or by mail. Instead, please call 626-308-2812 to discuss how to proceed with the application process.

Click on "Online Payments." Click on "Business License Online Renewal," then follow the instructions. Be prepared to enter the account number, which is the same as the business license number and pin number.
Note: Online payment is by MasterCard and Visa only (no electronic checks).
