Overnight Parking Policy & Permit
Only vehicles with a parking permit are allowed to be parked on San Gabriel city streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Residential Overnight Parking permits are issued by appointment only. Our hours of operation for phone and email inquiries are Monday thru Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. To minimize wait times and expedite appointments we are accepting new overnight parking permit applications and renewals with all vehicle registrations by email, mail, or our secure drop box located outside entrance of City Hall. All applications and renewal requests must have a contact name, residential address, unit # and phone number. Residents will be contacted to schedule an appointment to purchase their overnight parking permit.

Types of Vehicles Allowed
Only passenger vehicles and light trucks registered with a California license plate are allowed to park on the City's streets. All other vehicles including RVs, trailers, commercial trucks, or any vehicles with any advertisement on them are not permitted to park on the street, whether or not they have purchased a permit.
Types of Parking Permits
One-year residential parking permits are $136.00.
Six-month residential parking permits are $114.00.
Temporary parking permits are $4.00 per night and available for purchase online or at permit kiosks.

- A completed Overnight Parking Permit Application, including
- Apartment residents must have their apartment owner or manager sign the parking permit application indicating the number of parking spaces assigned to the apartment unit.
- Garage size, e.g. one- or two-car garage. All condos have two-car garages.
- Available spaces on the driveway; tandem parking is required.
- Number of vehicles registered to the property address.
- Scanned copies or photos of all current vehicle registrations in the household
- All vehicle registrations must be registered to the address and unit number listed on the application.
City staff will review the submitted application and information. Once your application is approved, we will contact you to schedule an appointment to pay and pick up your overnight parking permit. You will be contacted within 48 business hours (M-F) by City staff.
All applications are processed in the order they are received and wait times may be longer during the last week of the month as many residents are submitting requests to renew their annual parking permits. We strongly recommend submitting requests a week before permits expire.

Once your overnight parking permit application is approved, We will contact you to schedule an appointment to pay and pick up your overnight parking permit. You will be contacted within 48 business hours by City staff.
All applications are processed in the order they are received and wait times may be longer during the last week of the month as many residents are submitting requests to renew their annual parking permits. We strongly recommend submitting requests a week before permits expire.
Temporary overnight parking permits may be purchased:
- 24-hour self-serve kiosk located in front of the San Gabriel Police Department (625 S Del Mar Avenue, San Gabriel)
- 24-hour self-serve kiosk located at San Gabriel Community Services Department (250 S Mission Drive, San Gabriel)
- 24-hour self-serve kiosk located at the Marshall Satellite Police Station (311 W Marshall Street, San Gabriel)
- Online at PayMyCite.com and printed on a 8.5" by 11" sized paper
The cost of a temporary overnight parking permit is $4 per night. The machines accept cash and credit card payments.

Address Change:
Any change of address requires a new Overnight Parking Permit Application with your new San Gabriel address.
All vehicle registrations must reflect the new residential address and unit number/letter.
Vehicle Changes:
Please indicate if you are adding or removing any cars that are listed on your original application. If you are adding or changing any vehicles, please include the new vehicle year, make, model, and color. Note that all vehicle registrations must be registered to the address and unit number listed on the original application.

Citations
Parking citations may be paid online or by mail. You may also contest your citation.
