MORATORIUM REPLACEMENT AND MANSIONIZATION ORDINANCE

In anticipation of the expiration of the R-1 Moratorium on October 5, 2017, Planning Division staff is working to address the resident-expressed concerns surrounding the "mansionization" of single-family homes in the community by proposing changes to the process and development standards.  Beginning in July, staff will solicit feedback on proposed changes from the community, the Design Review Commission, and the Planning Commission - using this feedback, staff will finalize the proposed changes are prepare an Ordinance for consideration by the Planning Commission and City Council.

Next Steps

August 14, 2017: Planning Commission and Design Review Commission Joint Meeting to review the proposals and any comments mentioned during the community meeting. Click here to view the staff report.  

September 11, 2017: Planning Commission to make recommendation to City Council on the proposed changes.

October 3, 2017: City Council to make a decision on the adoption of new standards for single family zones.  

October 5, 2017: Expiration of moratorium.
