Common Resident Concerns

Contact the Public Works Department at (626) 308-2825 or by email, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday to report any of the concerns listed below.
  • City Trees - Parkway Tree needs to be trimmed or branches are hanging too low? See here for tree planting or removal information.
  • Dead Animals - For dead animals (except for skunks and raccoons) contact the SGV Humane Society at (626) 286-1159.
  • Hazardous Waste Disposal - Is provided by the Sanitation District of Los Angeles County, please refer to their site for drop off dates.
  • Potholes - Divots or hole in the roadway.
  • Sandbags - The City of San Gabriel has available 10 filled sand bags per property owner.
    • They can be picked up at the Maintenance Facility located at 121 West Mission Road (behind the Police Station) Monday through Thursday from 6:30 am to 3:45 pm and Friday from 6:30 am to 2:45 pm. 
    • Saturday and Sunday, sandbags are available at the “South” Fire Station located at 1303 South Del Mar Avenue. Fire Station (626) 308-2880
  • Street Lights / Signal Lights - Street light out? Signal light taking too long or out?
  • Trash Collection - Is provided to the City of San Gabriel by Athens Services (888) 336-6100. You may call our department regarding pick up of illegal dumping.
  • Water Companies - Are privately owned, please refer to your water bill or contact our department for their number.
