Youth Trips
Kid’s Travel Club
Registration forms for youth trips are available at playground sites and at the Recreation Office, 250 South Mission Drive. Buses depart from and return to the Mission Playhouse Parking Lot, 320 South Mission Drive. We will begin boarding the buses 15 minutes prior to the listed departure time to ensure the prompt departure of the bus. Based on the age of the youth, trip participants will be monitored by the Recreation Staff. Trip participants nine years old or younger must be accompanied and closely monitored by an older sibling. Refunds of the trip fee may be made up to five (5) working days prior to the day of the trip. No refunds will be made within five (5) working days of the trip.
El Capitan Theatre: Thursday, June 28. Departure: 9:00 a.m. Return: 2:00 p.m.
Join us for a movie at El Capitan Theatre. This historic theatre has been the starting point for many of Hollywood’s finest. Enjoy a morning movie, Brave, the newest animated movie from Disney Pixar Studios. Price includes a kid’s popcorn, drink and a treat. A brown bag lunch will be provided. This trip is open to all ages. Registration is limited, so register today. Fee: $20
Huntington Beach: Thursday, July 12. Departure: 9:00 a.m. Return: 5:00 p.m. Looking for a great time? Join us for a day at the beach! A sandwich, chips and a drink will be provided. Bring snacks, towel, beach gear and/or money for treats. This trip is open to all ages. Registration closes when bus is full. Fee: $10.
Penny Carnival: Friday, July 27, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Smith Park.
Gather your pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters and come on down to the summer Penny Carnival! Recreation Staff will have plenty of challenging game booths for you to try your luck at winning candy and prizes. Most booths still charge only one penny to play. Bring a bag full of change and have a ball!! All playgrounds will be closed for this event. Free Admission!!
Boomers: Thursday, August 2. Departure: 10:00 a.m. Return: 4:00 p.m. Tee off for this day at Boomers! Your registration fee includes unlimited miniature golf and cosmic miniature golf, rides, video games. A brown bag lunch will be provided. This trip is limited to ages 8-17. Registration closes when the bus is full. Fee: $18.
Raging Waters: Thursday, August 9. Departure: 9:00 a.m. Return: 5:00 p.m. Get ready to enjoy a wet, wild, and wacky day at Raging Waters! A Meal Deal is included in the price for lunch. Bring money for snacks. This trip is open to all ages. Registration closes when the bus is full. Fee: $35.
