Rebuilding Together is the leading volunteer organization that rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they may continue to live in warmth, safety and independence in their own homes. Many recipients are living in substandard conditions, including leaky roofs, no heating, faulty electrical and broken windows. Others need handicap modifications, either for wheelchair access or to prevent slipping and falling accidents.

Repairs are done at NO CHARGE to the homeowner. Materials, supplies and equipment are donated by national corporate sponsors and local civic-minded businesses and individuals. Labor is provided by an all-volunteer workforce of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers.

Rebuilding Together*Central San Gabriel Valley (CSGV) officially kicked off the new affiliate in San Gabriel on February 26, 2004. The City of San Gabriel has been a supporter and has annually adopted a house to sponsor since 2000. To date, Rebuilding Together has refurbished over 15 homes of low-income homeowners in San Gabriel. NIS staff act as the City’s liaison to Rebuilding Together.

For more information about the local affiliate and to apply for their services, please contact them (626) 287-2748.
