Shopping Cart Update
On June 30, 2010, City staff met with business owners to discuss the new shopping cart ordinance. The business owners had concerns related to the manner of enforcement associated with the ordinance. Staff addressed the business owners concerns and reinforced the City’s commitment to working with the business community.

Reporting Stray Shopping Carts
Please help us keep San Gabriel beautiful by reporting shopping carts that are being taken from shopping centers and left on nearby streets and sidewalks. Stray carts can cause accidents and can create an unattractive and blighted appearance in the community. We want to help prevent stray shopping carts from cluttering nearby streets; therefore, if you see a stray cart, call toll free 1-800-252-4613 and report the location of the cart and the name of the store, if available. This number operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by the California Shopping Cart Retrieval Corporation to assist in the removal of stray shopping carts from city streets.
