The Ravi Shankar Quartet (Concert & Dinner)

The Mission Playhouse and The Music Circle present The Ravi Shankar Quartet andSaturday, March 17th at 4:00pm. Take a journey into the realm of Ravi Shankar’s music with his senior disciples Gaurav Mazumdar (sitar), Barry Phillips (cello), Ashwini Shankar (shenai), and Arup Chattopadhyay (tabla). Grammy nominated Mazumdar has collaborated with composers including Philip Glass and performed at the Vatican. Grammy winner Phillips has toured worldwide with The Anoushka Shankar Project, performing at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, The Royal Albert Hall-London, and Sydney Opera House. Born into a family of renowned shehnai musicians, Shankar began playing at a young age and has entertained audiences across the globe. Currently a teacher and visiting lecturer, Chattopadhyay has played at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center.

Seating is onstage for the performance providing you with an intimated concert experience.

Purchase a dinner ticket for $10 by March 15th for a delicious Indian vegetarian meal. Dinner includes Naan Bread, Rice Pilaf, Yellow Dal, Bhindi Masala, Navarathan Korma, and bottled water.  To purchase a dinner ticket, visit musiccircle.org. 

Concert tickets start at $25 ($5 for students). To purchase concert tickets online, visit missionplayhouse.org. To purchase tickets over the phone, call Ticketmaster at 1 (800) 745-3000. Tickets purchased online or over the phone are subject to additional fees & charges. 

If you prefer to buy tickets in person, come to the Playhouse Box Office Tuesdays or Thursdays from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Cash, MasterCard, and Visa are the forms of payment accepted at the Playhouse Box Office. There are no refunds, exchanges, cancellations.
