Has partnered with the city of San Gabriel to preserve and rehabilitate one of our city’s most treasured resources, La Laguna de San Gabriel Playground (aka “Monster” or “Dinosaur” Park), located in Vincent Lugo Park. FoLL is working to secure funding from grants and private donations. When all the necessary funding is secured, FoLL and the city of San Gabriel will begin rehabilitation of the playground. The purpose of La Casa is to encourage and support individuals and families in need. By providing direct human services, advocacy and referrals, La Casa seeks to enhance the educational and economic well-being of the people it serves. Bilingual / multicultural preschool, English as a second language classes, assistance with citizenship, parenting, leadership training, and social service information are just some of what is offered. The San Gabriel Educational Foundation (SEF), the primary fundraising partner of the San Gabriel Unified School District, raises funds from throughout the San Gabriel community – parents, businesses, community members – to support educational programs at all of San Gabriel USD’s eight schools and that benefit all K-12 students. SEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has donated more than $670,000 to our schools since 1986 to provide funding for student programs and curriculum that are in danger of being reduced or eliminated. SEF’s volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of school parents, community and business leaders who are dedicated to enhancing and improving public education for San Gabriel’s youth.
