San Gabriel is known for its delicious, authentic Asian cuisine and one of the hottest foods in the city is dumplings. Many of the amazing dumpling spots in San Gabriel have been recognized by restaurant critics and food bloggers including the Los Angeles Times' Jonathan Gold. At the same time, the craft beer scene has taken off in recent years, and beer festivals are a popular weekend activity. The San Gabriel Dumpling & Beer Fest is an annual event that brings those two great loves together.
The festival offers dumpling vendors and craft beer tastings in the city's historic Mission District, making a fun night for the community to come together at our local twist on Oktoberfest. There will also be live entertainment. In 2015, the inaugural festival was a massive success and was the most well attended city event in recent memory. This year, the festival promises to be even better, with improvements made based on lessons learned from the first festival.
Come join us for the 2016 San Gabriel Dumpling & Beer Fest on Thursday, Sept. 29 from 6:00-9:30 p.m. in the Mission District (320 S Mission Drive).
Admission into the festival is free. Beer tasting wristbands can be purchased in advance online through Eventbrite. Food will be available for purchase directly from vendors and food trucks at the event.
