San Gabriel Community Foundation
There is no shortage of individuals and organizations in the San Gabriel community working hard to improve quality of life and help those in need. But often, these groups do not have enough money to make it possible to do all that is needed.
That’s where the San Gabriel Community Foundation comes in. The organization, made up of representatives from the City of San Gabriel, San Gabriel Unified School District, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center and Church of Our Saviour, was formed in 2001 to provided much-needed funding source for philanthropic endeavors in the community.
Each year, the foundation distributes grants to worthy San Gabriel causes that benefit the health and welfare of local residents. Previous grants have gone to help victims of sexual assault, provide child and family counseling services, assist academically challenged students in local schools and many other worthy causes. In addition, the foundation annually awards college scholarships for outstanding local high school graduates.
To be able to support these important community causes, the foundation needs the help of community donors. For those who want to do good in the community, the foundation and its long-time partner, the century-old California Community Foundation, provide a legal, financial and technical infrastructure to help donors carefully match their philanthropy to actual community needs and genuine causes. A donation to the Community Foundation is an easy and direct way to directly help the San Gabriel community.
